English Bilingual Teaching
In our school we started the bilingual teaching from this academic year. The pupils in the first grade learn English 4 times a day in a small group. Besides this, they have Music lessons, where they learn just in English. The Geography and P.E. lessons are taught to them in English and Hungarian at the same time. We teach them several poems, songs, countings. These helps their language learning. Pupils learn quite easily in this oral period, it is very amazing to work with them.
23rd October
Celebration of 23rd October is very important in our life, in our school life.
We always prepare for this celebration with a lot of work. We commemorate the Revolution in 1956 this day, but of course we celebrate this day earlier in our school, because 23rd October is holiday in Hungary.
We got to know the events and important happenings of this revolution from an earlier diary and newsreel. The poems and dances made this program especially amusing and nice. The performance was taught by Lakatos Zsuzsanna, Hungarian and History teacher and Szabóné Dancsik Tünde, Dance teacher
Fair at Christmas
We organize this fair every second year, so this year we had this kind of programme. It was on 20th of December.
Pupils from the 3rd and 4th grade prepared for this celebration with a nice programme.
Every class prepared for this fair with big enthusiast. We made a lot of craft things, such as vases, table ornaments, Christmas decorations for table and door, lamps, postcards, candles and so on. Of course with the help of the teachers and the parents.
Every class sold their own made things at their tables. Children enjoyed this event very much. Selling and buying different things were very interesting for them. It was a really good fair.
Christmas Party
This year we celebrated Christmas in a special way.
Students from the Musical School gave us a nice concert. Pupils from our school also took part in this program. They sang English and German songs, along with their teachers.
Children told a very nice and interesting tale called “The Butterfly of the Happiness”. The whole program was about happiness and love. Of course a lot of parents saw this program.
The performance was taught by Nagyné Szentendrei Adrienn, Bálint Judit and Szabóné Dancsik Tünde.
Carnival Time for Junior Classes
In our school we organize Carnival for the junior and the senior classes. The pupils prepare for this program very much. Their costumes are really interesting, good with a lot of good ideas. After singing a song, every class told their own poem. We could see very good costumes. After the performance the classes celebrated this holiday in their own classrooms.
Carnival Time for Senior Classes
In our school we always look forward to Carnival Time. Everybody put on some costumes according to our tradition. Last year we chose colours, but this year we chose countries. We had to introduce the chosen countries. I think it was a very good occasion. Everybody had a great time. The jury’s task was really hard. The winning countries were Italy (performed by 5th/b grade), Japan (performed by 7th/a grade), and Spain (performed by 7th/c grade). Of course the teachers put on some costumes too. They chose Turkey. After the performances we had a wonderful disco.
School Play for Junior Class
Everybody looked forward to the junior class’s play on 6th March. The cooperative work of pupils, teachers and parents made this school play program very special and nice. The youngest prepared for this event in English and German. We could see a musical called ’Légy jó mindhalálig’. We got some information about a night of a class, it was a dance performance. Everybody enjoyed the afternoon, they had really good performances, and we could find a lot of young ’talents’. The jury had difficult job to choose the best.
School Play
In our school life we have a very interesting program, it is a so called “school play evening”. Every class prepared for this performance, with the help of their teachers.
Students from the junior classes especially made wonderful performances. We could see a lot of nice, amazing and wonderful plays. We could see some poems in Hungarian, English and German. Some especially very nice performances were Herkules, Pinocchio, and Pippin, Anywhere in Europe or a drummer’s performance. The best performances were shown in TIK on 27 March. We had a really amazing evening.
15th March
This year we had a very special celebration. The revolution in 1848-49 was commemorated by a soldier orchestra and a team from the 5th Bocskai István shooter brigade.
In the schoolyard we saw a presentation by the shooter brigade. After this we heard a march by the soldier orchestra. The event was held in the school gym, where the dancers from the 6th and 7th grade gave us a very high standard performance. We could see changing of the guards, too.
Maybe for the youngest children it was a little bit difficult to understand, but the work of Szabóné Dancsik Tünde and Balogh Eszter made it easier for them, as well.
